
Preschool
Teeter Tots: 18-30 months. Class is taken with
an adult. In this playful movement class, the teacher leads activities and shows
parents how to help their child through age appropriate learning stations.
Preschool Open Gym: 18 months to Kindergarten. Parent/
guardian must be with child in gym. This class is an opportunity for child
and adult to exercise and play together. Staff is available in the gym to help if
desired.
Partners: 2½-3½ yrs. old. Class is taken with
an adult. In this movement activity class, everyone gets to bend
and stretch and move in a variety of ways. Animal walks, mini-tramp,
swinging on the rings, marching in a parade, and climbing through
tunnels are some of the favorite activities of this age group.
Adults help the children do stretching exercises, learn sharing,
taking turns and being part of a group.
Tumble Along: 3½-4½ yrs. old. Begin to learn basic
gymnastics skills. We stress warm-up activities, basic tumbling,
following instructions, taking turns, and safety in the gym.
Additional activities include learning how to walk on the balance
beam, swing from the bars, and jump on the mini-tramp and Tumble-
Tramp.
Advanced Tumble Along: 4 yrs. old. A continuation of skills learned in
Tumble Along. Must be approved by your Tumble Along instructor.
Boys Only: 4½-6 yrs. old. This is a fun class with No Girls Allowed!
Boys will be introduced to all of the boys' equipment including tumbling, vault,
pommel horse, rings, parallel bars and high bar. This class is perfect for beginner
and intermediate level students.
Rhythmic Gymnastics: 4-6 yrs. old. Combines tumbling and
dance skills using ribbons, balls, hoops and ropes to create a
variety of movements and routines to music.
Mini-Sports: 4-6 yrs. old. Fun class for boys and
girls who enjoy traditional sports like soccer,
basketball, T-ball, floor hockey, tennis, track and field, Frisbee,
kickball and trampoline. Our goal is to become familiar with the
special lingo and skills used in different sports.
Mini-Stars Cheer: 4-6 yrs. old. A fun cheerleading class with age-appropriate
tumbling, jumps and cheers.
Incredible Kids: 2-5 years old. Specifically designed curriculum for preschoolers
who have physical limitations which would prevent them from participating in our
regular classes.
Beginner Gymnastics: 4½-6 yrs. old. Beginning tumbling
skills plus introduction to gymnastics equipment.
Intermediate Gymnastics: 5-6 yrs. old. Continuation of
Beginner level. Learning more difficult skills.
Advanced Gymnastics: 5-6 yrs. old. Requirements are:
backward roll, cartwheel, headstand, bridge, pullover, good
listening skills.
Jumping Janes: 5-7 yrs. old. Must be approved by your instructor.
Girls in this class are strongly encouraged to attend two classes per week.
Grade School
Tumbling: Tumbling instruction only. Level I - beginner skills, Level II -
must have backbend down with no spot and cartwheels to both sides, Level III – must
have back walkover without a spot and have started back handspring, Level IV - must
have round-off, two back handsprings.
Cheer Basics: This class is designed for girls who want to get a glimpse into the
world of cheerleading without the commitment of a competitive team. Participants will
work on the basic jumps, tumbling, and stunts needed for the very popular sport of
cheerleading. Specifically designed for ages 7-14.
Young Boys Gymnastics: 5½ to 7 years old. A basic instruction will be given in tumbling,
rings, parallel bars, vault, pommel horse and high bar. Conditioning and tumble tramp help build
strength and flexibility.
Boys Beginner Gymnastics: 7 to 14 years old. Progressive skills are taught in tumbling, rings, vault,
parallel bars, pommel horse, and horizontal bar. Conditioning and tumble tramp help build
strength and flexibility.
Boys Intermediate Gymnastics: 7 to 14 years old. When boys master the beginner skills, they
will advance to this intermediate level where more advanced skills are taught.
Girls Beginner I Gymnastics: For the beginner gymnast with little
or no experience.
Girls Beginner II Gymnastics: A continuation of Beginner I level.
Requirements are: cartwheel, bridge, good cast on bars, vault board rebound.
Intermediate Girls Gymnastics: Continuation of Beginner II level.
Requirements are: backbend down, cuts on bars, confident beam work.
Advanced Girls Gymnastics: Continuation of Intermediate
level. We recommend that girls come twice a week at this level, but it is not
required. Requirements are: pullover, back hop circle, back walkover, round-off.
Pre-Team: This class is a lead-in to our competitive level. Gymnasts
MUST attend twice a week. If you are unable to meet this commitment, please
sign up for the Advanced gymnastics class, tumbling class or Teen
Gymnastics as appropriate.
Teen Gymnastics: Ages 8 tp 14 years. This is an age-appropriate beginner/intermediate
level class for teenage girls in middle school or higher. Skills will be worked on vault, bars,
beam, floor and tumble tramp.
Rhythmic Gymnastics: Ages 7 to 14 years. Rhythmic gymnastics incorporates dance and tumbling plus
skills using ribbons, balls, hoops, and ropes. Basic skills and routines will be taught.
Special Olympics Class: Ages 8 and up. Classes for developmentally challenged students.
Shining Stars: Ages 10 and up. Cheer squad for developmentally challenged students ages 10 and up.
Students should be ambulatory and able to do simple dance steps, basic tumbling skills, arm movements
and jumps.
Open Gym: Minimum age is 10 years unless a parent also
participates. Horizon guests must have a permission slip on file in
the office.
